northside take 5 2northside take 5 1Exactly where we find artwork to remix is a bit of an unknown, especially when we remix songs like Take 5 by Northside which achieved the dizzy heights of number 40 in the British charts. Why have we remixed this obscure song, simply because we had a great photo of five babes and needed a song with the number five in its title. On the original single cover artwork we find what appears to be an elementary grade student's paper-mache version of a man on a motorcycle. On the remix are the five babes we mentioned, who are ripe for the taking, hence 'Take 5'. You see how that works?

Naked And Sacred - Maria Nayler

maria nayler naked and sacred remixmaria nayler naked and sacred 1When you release a song whose title is Naked And Sacred, as Maria Nayler has done, you ought to think more carefully about what should go on the front cover artwork. For example, the picture of the babe wearing a miter but otherwise nude on the remix would be an example of what would reflect the song title. Sitting on a bench in what looks like a college changing room, taking off (or putting on) a shoe doesn't really cut it. Locker!

Angel - Eurythmics

eurythmics angel 2eurythmics angel 1Another remix for Eurythmics, this time for their single Angel. On the original cover artwork we find the lead singer in monochrome. Is that all it took in the early 1990s to become angelic? We don't know. But we do know that on the remix, the monochrome theme is continued, but that the babe has an enormous pair. Of wings, we meant. Surely this would qualify as angelic, not just by 1990s standards, but even today? We think so. Cherub!

Cosmic Girl - Jamiroquai

jamiroquai cosmic girl 2jamiroquai cosmic girl 1What does a Cosmic Girl look like according to Jamiroquai? We have no idea, because on the original single cover artwork, there is nothing except a silhouette of the singer surrounded by what are presumably meant to be cosmic orbit rings. On the remix we find a real cosmic babe, standing in the corridors of a spaceship, wearing a latex space suit and high heels (as is the requirement in the cosmic future). Zipper!

manic street preachers you stole the sun from my heart 2manic street preachers you stole the sun from my heart 1What happens when You Stole The Sun From My Heart? If the original single front cover artwork by Manic Street Preachers is to be believed, all that happens is that you see a sunset. On the remix we find a babe who has also had the sun stolen from her heart at sunset, but has also had her clothes stolen from her heart too. She crossing her heart and hoping that nothing else is stolen. Thieves!

Can You Dig It - The Mock Turtles

mock turtles can you dig it remixmock turtles can you dig it 1When The Mock Turtles ask a question such as Can You Dig It? We would expect that the original single cover artwork might give an indication of what it is that they are expecting us to dig. On the remix we find out more about the situation. It seems there is a pile of dirt that needs digging, but rather than wait for us to do it, they have invited some young babe to do the digging. It is obviously hot work as she seems to have needed to remove all of her clothes other than her socks and shoes. Humid!

If I Could Fly - Grace

grace if i could fly remixgrace if i could fly 1Grace is asking a good question when she questions If I Could Fly. If she could fly, she might look a little different to the image on the original single front cover artwork. She might, in reality, look more like the babe on the remix who has swapped her business-like suit, for some flowing wings that may well give her enough elevation to take off. Even if she couldn't fly, it makes for better cover artwork. Rotate!

Lily Was Hear - David A Stewart Featuring Candy Dulfer

dave stewart lily was here 2dave stewart lily was here 1Who is David A Stewart and why is he featuring Candy Dulfer? And why is it that Lily Was Here? All or none of these questions may or may not be answered by the original single cover artwork, depending on your artistic outlook. For us it's all far too amorphous. So instead we remixed the cover artwork to show a babe standing in the middle of a pond, with a lily in front of here, so that it is clear where it is that lily is. Maybe the babe is called lily too, that would be an inchoate juxtaposition. Dictionary!

Losing My Religion - R.E.M.

rem losing my religion 1rem losing my religion 2rem losing my religion remix
Maybe it's no surprise that R.E.M. are singing about Losing My Religion so soon after Halloween, which is why the original single cover artwork requires a special triple-play remix. On the original cover we find the lead singer looking sad. Perhaps he is sad at having lost his religion? On the first remix we find two nuns who, it would appear, are in the process of losing some of their religion. On the second remix we find a babe who has found religion but is likely to lose it very quickly if she doesn't get dressed. Habit!

Creep - Radiohead

radiohead creep 2radiohead creep 1As Halloween approaches, the remixes on AllBum.Art get creepier. And none more so than this remix of Creep by Radiohead. On the original single cover artwork we find what appears to be a poor rendition of JFK smoking a cigarette with a zip for his mouth. If that (and Radiohead's music) isn't creepy enough, on the remix we find a babe creeping down some stairs looking for all the world like a vampire with her blood red lips. We aren't sure if all female vampires wear the same outfit as her but if they do, then maybe getting bitten wouldn't be that bad after all. Canine!
