Rat-ta-tat-ta-tat is probably the most famous lyric uttered by The Manhattan Transfer but their style of relaxed harmonic chirping is ideally suited to melodic Christmas moaning and on The Christmas Album, that is what they surpass themselves at. The cover is odd in that it is Christmassy but also has palm leaves on it. Must be a NY thing. The remix is just as Christmassy but has a cute chick wearing little but a smile and some tinsel - the best kind of clothing in the Holidays.

Another seasonal remix for Bon Jovi, this time for their 1994 single Please Come Home For Christmas. The original cover is a case of 'what is wrong with this picture'. It shows Mr Jovi kissing a cute babe. But, and here's the issue, if he is kissing her, who exactly is it that he wants home for Christmas? It can't be her, as she is already home, right? The remixed cover art shows a girl who is trying to entice Mr Jovi to go to her home for Christmas, instead of getting cosy with the girl in the picture. No doubt she is a fan of his power ballads. Someone has to be!

I Wish Everyday Could Be Like Christmas was originally a B-side for Bon Jovi but was later released as a single in its own right. The original cover shows the Bon Jovi broken heart with a vaguely Holiday feel to it. The remix shows what we think Mr Jovi would rather everyday was like at Christmas. In fact, we strongly suspect that a naked girl wearing only tinsel and a hat is exactly what it is like for Mr Jovi every Holiday. As would many men...

As is so often the case with obscure songs of long ago, the original cover is difficult to find. The 'original' cover for In The Bleak Midwinter by Bert Jansch is therefore a remix in itself, being the cover of his album The River Sessions on which the song can be found. The remix is, well, a lot bleaker and a lot more wintery. Who the girl is we do not know but the winter is looking very bleak for her, standing around in the snow in nothing but silver high heel boots. Poor girl.

Not content with his very own Status Quo week, Mark Hodson of England has supplied us with yet another remix of a cover by his favorite band. The original cover of It's Christmas Time sees the band hanging up their electric guitars on a tree. The remix shows pin-up queen Bettie Page hanging up something else on the tree. And wouldn't you know it, she's gone and forgotten to get dressed (other than for a furry Xmas hat!)

Ring-a-ling-a-ling... This version of the Holiday hit Sleigh Ride comes to us courtesy of The Ronettes. We have had to use a little poetic license for this remix, as there is no original cover to remix. So we have invented one! The original shows the band in their seasonal skirts, sitting on a wall in the snow. The remix shows an altogether different scene with a girl in the altogether sitting on a sleigh ready to ride. Any offers to pull her? Giddy up!

Continuing the festive frolics, here's a remix of Elton John's classic Christmas choon entitled Step Into Christmas. There are a number of original covers for this but our remix focuses on one that is, to put it least, a bit lacking in festive cheer. It's just Mr Dwight, and that's about it. Our remix shows a babe who has not only stepped into Christmas but has obviously had too much Christmas cheer as she has slipped and fallen down on her ass. And for some reason, she is naked except for a Christmas hat and a pair of high heel boots!

Just how many cover versions of songs is it possible to make cover remixes of? Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town was originally recorded in 1934 but this remix is of the 1978 version by Bruce Springsteen (no stranger to AllBum.Art). Instead of Santa, a reindeer, a hippo and a bird singing in a bath (yes, that's what the original is), the remix shows Santa checking out if a young lady had been naughty or nice. By the looks of it she is both, which must leave Mr Claus in quite a quandary as to what to do with her. Any suggestions?

Another of those Holiday songs that has been sung by a cast of thousands, Winter Wonderland is a seasonal classic. This version is sung by Aretha Franklin and the cover for the song shows Ms Franklin in a suitably festive outfit. Our remix of the cover is also suitably festive and relays more of the fun of being in a winter wonderland. Playing in the snow, getting cold. Well you would wearing no sweater now wouldn't you?

The song O Tannenbaum is the German name for O Christmas Tree and has been sung by so many artists that instead of picking on one particular one, we have just remixed a generic cover taken from an ancient album on the Decca record label. Instead of the winter scene on the Rhine, you can see instead a naked Christmas tree - naked that is except for a single bauble. Any offers to help decorate it?
