maximo park girls who play guitars remixmaximo park girls who play guitars 1When Maximo Park sang about Girls Who Play Guitars, it would appear, if the cover of their single is to be believed, that what was actually on their mind was two relatively ordinary people in grey clothes looking into the deep yellow beyond. What we think about when we see the title girls who play guitars, is girls - who play guitars. Preferably ones who do so wearing naught but some high heels. And would you credit it, the remix is just what we were looking for. Pluck!

Trick Me - Kelis

kelis trick me remixkelis trick me 1We fail to see why sucking on a lollipop would constitute being tricked in any way, unless it had hot chilli powder in it. But this is what Kelis thinks would make a good representation of that particular scenario. We think that Trick Me would be better represented by the picture in the remixed cover. That is to say one girl who has been talked into undressing so she is wearing nothing but her boots by her friends and then being told to go out on a cold wintery street for her photo taken. Gotcha!

Fuck Me Pumps - Amy Winehouse

amy winehouse fmp 2amy winehouse fmp 1One should never speak ill of the dead, or so they say, but with the month of October beckoning, perhaps pointing out the glaring mistake in the cover of their single is permissible. The cover of Fuck Me Pumps by the now deceased Amy Winehouse shows Ms Winehouse lounging around but, and here's the missing bit, her pumps are not easy to discern given the position she is sitting in. In the remix we see a babe who has taken the title more than literally and seems to be trying to fuck a pair of pumps. Screw!

I Was A Ye-Ye Girl - Doing Time

doing time ye ye girl remixdoing time ye ye girl 1What can we say about I Was A Ye-Ye Girl by Doing Time, other than yeah, baby! Apparently, Ye-Ye girls were a phenomenon in the 1960s in France where they were the high fashion pop babes of the time. The original cover provides no glimpse of what such a girl might have looked like so it is good that the remix fills in the gap, though it's quite a small gap. If that is what Ye-Ye girls were like, build a time machine right away, and let's get back to France. Ooh la-la!

Love Will Come Through - Travis

travis love will come through 2travis love will come through 1Here we are again with another dreary song by Travis. And accompanying their melancholy, downbeat performance is the cover of a single that could have been made by a 10 year old with no idea of art. Thankfully the remix shows something more akin to the ethos of the song. A sexy babe in a see through dress. Does her love come through? It certainly looks like it does. Opaque!

Sunrise - Ashiva

ashiva sunrise remixashiva sunrise 1Well it's nearly over. 'What is?', you ask. The summer of course. Yes, today is the last day of summer and we've brought you many a summer sizzler over the season. We conclude the summer with Sunrise by Ashiva. The original cover is just awful, truly awful. Who thought that some words and a logo on a red background would be a good look? Right! So we at AllBum.Art got our remixing head on and produced, well, the remix. A babe, on a beach, at sunrise. Ain't that the best way to end the summer? Ebb!

dj encore engelina i see right through to you remixdj encore engelina i see right through to you 1A reader submitted entry from Hemming Feddersen of Denmark. Apparently I See Right Through To You was the theme tune to the Danish version of Big Brother. No doubt DJ Encore Featuring Engelina made some capital from that old chestnut. Hemming tells us:
It's all very smart. The song has some good picture, so nice picture of seeing through to girl of clothes is best. Seeing-through to you!

Yeah, not quite right there Hemming but we get what you mean. Hoogly!

What Would You Do - City High

city high what would you do remixcity high what would you do 1What Would You Do? That is the question being posed by City High. But in order to be able to answer that question, it is necessary that we understand the situation we find ourselves in. The original cover gives nothing with which to work. The remix paints a very different picture. We find ourselves in a situation where a (very) mature lady who is wearing nothing but a pair of high heels is trying to undress us. What do we do? Do we play along? Or are we not into her saggy curves? What would you do? Choose!

Take Me Home (A Girl Like Me) - Sophie Ellis-Bextor

sophie ellis bextor take me home remixsophie ellis bextor take me home 1Whilst we in a vehicular mood, here's a remix for Take Me Home (A Girl Like Me) by Sophie Ellis-Bextor. The original cover has a nice picture of Ms Ellis-Bextor, but gives no indication of why we might want to take her home. The remix shows a girl who definitely should be taken home. Either to find the clothes she has so obviously lost, or alternatively, well, you can work that out for yourself. Accelerate!

Mama Told Me Not To Come - Tom Jones And Stereophonics

tom jones stereophonics mama told me not to come 2tom jones stereophonics mama told me not to come 1Mama Told Me Not To Come. That is what Tom Jones And Stereophonics tell us. But why is it that Mama was so vehemently against us going along? The remix of the cover of the single tells the story. It's Mama herself. She is clearly planning something that she didn't want you to see. Exactly what it is that she is planning is clear from her pose. If you are of a sensitive disposition, you definitely should not remain around and next time, listen to Mama before you decide whether to come. Instructive!
