What is the Dirty Little Secret which The All American Rejects are singing about? If the original single artwork is taken as the reference point, the dirt is just a slightly splodgy use of the paint brush that has been used to write the name of the band and the title on the front cover. On the remix, we find a dude standing looking at a naked woman whose pose suggests that she is not happy with him. His dirty little secret has decided she wants to come clean!
U Can't Touch This, that is what MC Hammer tells us. What is it that u can't touch? Maybe it is a wall that is somehow missing from the original front cover artwork. Maybe it is the letters 'y' and 'o' which are missing from the title of the song. On the remix we find a babe whose hands are down the shorts of a tall black dude. Maybe u can't touch whatever it is that she has found in his shorts. That could clearly be possible, as she seems keen to hold onto it for herself. Banana!
The second remix for 70s popster Elton John. This time for his song Blue Eyes, the original cover for which features Mr Dwight leaning on what appears to be a pole (as used in the eponymous dance act). Did they have those in 1982? Anyhow, the remix just shows a babe with blue eyes, who, for some reason, has had white duct tape stuck over her mouth. Bizarre!
Just a simple update of this classic 1980s rock track from ZZ Top. The original cover does a pretty good job of identifying the kind of legs that the Top boys are singing about. But that was nearly 30 years ago. Today, skirts are shorter and heels are higher and the remixed cover does a good job of reflecting today's more extreme leg related situation, together with a bit of cleavage for that truly 2010s feel. Oh, and we've done away with the whole stupid car thing as well. Eliminator: what were they thinking of?
Another remix for Mr Bruno Mars. This time it's his 2010 single Just The Way You Are. What is all that craziness going on on the cover? A mosaic of a face of a woman... is that how Mr Hernandez likes his women. And is that how Mr Hernandez wants his women to remain? Us, we prefer a naked chick in stockings and high heels and as far as it goes, she can be just the way she is all day if she wants to!
The remix for this 1982 single from the Electric Light Orchestra was prompted by the closure of the local newspaper. Apparently no one reads newspapers any more, they get their news on TV or online. The original cover of Here Is The News shows the band standing on (or in front of) what appears to be the roof of a newspaper office. The remix has brought this right up to date and instead of the newspaper there is a girl with a TV camera. And wouldn't you know it, she's naked. Naked news, now that sounds like a good idea...
Did you even know that Clint Eastwood was a singer? Yes, he had a single in 1969 with a song taken from the movie Paint Your Wagon. The cover of the single I Talk To The Trees shows Mr Eastwood together with Mr Marvin sitting by a camp fire so where are the trees and why are they on speaking terms with them? In the remix we see the forest pixie who they were really talking with who fooled them into thinking they were talking to trees and not some hot nude babe by making a whooshing noise when she spoke. Try it for yourself!
What does Sunrise look like in a place called Angel City? It looks like a babe in a green dress and yellow bra, leaning over on a green background. That is what the band Angel City indicate on their single front cover artwork. On the remix we find a babe standing resting her tired heels against a wall at sunrise. She may well be an angel, though she doesn't have any wings. In fact other than her boots, she doesn't have any clothes at all. Rooftop!
Hey Pete Townshend, is your glass empty? No! As the original cover artwork of your album shows, it is at least half full. Empty Glass indeed. And what's with the two babes and your angel halo. Very odd. Strikingly the remix does have an empty glass, and a babe of class. A classy brassy glass that isn't crass. Yes, we can write lyrics too, two, shooby-doo. Oh, and the babe with the empty glass is also wearing a dress with great finesse, but which only covers that which ought only to be seen by her lover. Deep!
Does Your Chewing Gum Lose Its Flavour (On The Bedpost Overnight)? Does My Chewing Gum Lose Its Flavour (On The Bedpost Overnight)? Does Anyone's Chewing Gum Lose Its Flavour (On The Bedpost Overnight)? Maybe Lonnie Donegan knows the answer, or maybe the babe on the remix knows the answer. She seems to be conducting some kind of experiment in which chewing gum and bedposts have become intertwined. Science!
