eurythmics angel playing remixeurythmics angel playing 1There Must Be An Angel (Playing With My Heart) was a top chart pop hit for British band Eurythmics in the mid 1980s. In those halcyon days, the art of producing appropriate (or inappropriate) single covers had not been perfected and we therefore see on the cover, an angel flying through the sky pushing a heart along for the journey. But is that my heart she is playing with? No, it's any old heart. The remix shows an angel that could definitely play with your heart if you let her: But Don't! She is much more dangerous than her appearance let's on.

Can't Take My Eyes Off You - Boys Town Gang

boys town gang eyes remixboys town gang eyes 1This version of Can't Take My Eyes Off You is a 1980s remake of the classic Frankie Valli song of the 1960s by 'Cisco disco dudes Boys Town Gang. But, yuk, what a single cover. The gang seem to be car mechanics and it is completely unclear why anyone would be unable to take their eyes off them, except, perhaps, members of the Village People. The remixed cover keeps the urban garage scene of the original, but replaces the oily dudes with some freaky femmes. Look closely and you will find many things that will draw you in to the remixed album art. Now, can you keep your eyes off it?

Genie In A Bottle - Christina Agulera

christina aguilera bottle in a genie remixchristina aguilera genie in a bottle 1I'm a Genie In A Bottle, you've got to rub me the right way. Those were the instructions given to us in 1999 by Christina Aguilera. Under normal circumstances, being told what to do in that way would result in immediate backlash, but we will give Ms Aguilera the benefit of the doubt. One of the AllBum.Art has the habit of singing the alternative lyrics 'Bottle In A Genie' and this sparked the idea for a remixed cover for the single. In the remixed cover, it is clear that a genie has materialised in the form of a hot chick with no panties on, who is sitting on a bottle. Well 'on' is not really correct, as you can see. Hence the cover for 'Bottle In A Genie' has been born.

A triple play from The Beach Boys, and their American classic Surfin' USA especially for the 4th of July. On the original cover the boys are carrying their surfboard on the beach, so thumbs up for a cover that reflects the song. On the first remix is a blonde babe carrying her own surfboard - doesn't anyone want to help her with it? On the second remix is another babe and her board. Why these babes choose to surf naked we don't know, but who's complaining?

Bend Me, Shape Me - Amen Corner

amen corner bend me shape ramen corner bend me shape mBend Me, Shape Me, anyway you want me. That's what Amen Corner believed constituted appropriate lyrics in 1966. Not until Aqua's Barbie Girl in the late 1990s did such submissive lyrics re-appear. The cover shows a doll ready to be bent and shaped, but only a wooden one. How much nicer if the doll was real. In the remix she is and has clearly already been bent. Next comes the shaping.

alex party wrap me up remixalex party wrap me up 1Wrap Me Up is the 1995 single from Italian dance troupe Alex Party. It's another obscure track but is here because of the delightful remix of the cover. The original cover says nothing. The remixed cover says "Wrap Me Up then Unwrap Me". Pull on the ribbon and see what's underneath. It is Ms Party? Who knows, but one thing is certain, there would be a party taking place once that doozie is unwrapped.

Dancing Tight - Galaxy Featuring Phil Fearon

galaxy dancing tight remixgalaxy dancing tight 1Dancing Tight. What does the title of this 1983 single by Galaxy Featuring Phil Fearon bring to mind? Well, a babe in a tight fitting outfit dancing perhaps. No, that's not what Mr Fearon had in mind, instead a picture of him star jumping in a silly 1980s outfit. So we replaced Mr Fearon with Ms Tied-Up-And-Naked. Still no dancing or tight outfits but does that really matter after all?

(Let's Get) Physical - Olivia Newton-John

olivia physical remixolivia physical 1At the time of it's release, Olivia Newton-John's single and video for the song (Let's Get) Physical was seen as pretty edgy. Some radio stations even banned it. Of course today, it is pretty tame. So we've edged it up a little and replaced the picture of the tame Ms Newton-John with a whole load of pretty girls getting physical. Why they are doing this in the nude is anyone's guess, but our good fortune.

Sweet Hitch-Hiker - Creedence Clearwater Revival

ccr sweet hitch hiker remixccr sweet hitch hiker 1Maybe it was the thing to do in the 1970s, put a picture of the hairy faced band on the cover of the single. Clearly for Creedence Clearwater Revival, this is exactly what they had in mind for the cover of their single Sweet Hitch-Hiker. What an opportunity they missed though. So we have revived the cover with a credible remix which shows the sweet hitch-hiker herself. So that's a credible clear revival!

Can I Kick It - A Tribe Called Quest

atcq can i kick it remixatcq can i kick it 1Who could forget the classic retort to Can I Kick It? Yes, you can! The thing is, if such a thing can be called a thing, that the cover from A Tribe Called Quest's single fails to address even the most basic requirements for a cover. It does not show the band, nor does it cast any light on what is being kicked. The remixed cover solves this problem by showing exactly what is being kicked, which seems to be the panties of a long row of otherwise naked babes. Yes, you can!
