sister sledge we are family remixsister sledge we are family 1Whilst we are in a family mood, here's another sibling related remix. We Are Family was a hit for Sister Sledge in the 70s and again in the 80s and 90s as a remix, so it is only fitting that the cover of their single (and album of the same name) receives the AllBum.Art treatment. On the original cover we see the sisters, sitting around looking less than familial. On the remix we find a mother and her daughter looking equally familial but much happier than the sisters appear. Then again letting the wind blow through your hair on a sunny day is always a winner. Smile!

Daughter - Pearl Jam

pearl jam daughter remixpearl jam daughter 1Just what were Pearl Jam on when they were thinking about what to put on the cover for their single Daughter? In fact what exactly is it that is on the cover? It looks like the inside of a cheese grater lit up in red light. Anyhow, thank goodness for AllBum.Art as we can help sort out the mess for them. On the remix we find a mother proudly sitting alongside her daughter. For some reason they are both nude: perhaps they are naturists. Nudist!

On My Knees - The 411 Featuring Ghostface Killah

411 on my knees remix411 on my knees 1411 is a band comprising four cute looking girls, so what is the '11' bit - perhaps this relates to bingo where legs are eleven, or maybe we made that bit up. Either way, the original cover artwork for their single On My Knees Featuring Ghostface Killah (who is so ghostly they don't even appear on the cover) is not bad. But the 11 are not on their knees. In the remix, we find just one, not 4 girls, but she is on her knees. Ghostface is still nowhere to be seen, but maybe that's the nature of such a spectre. Spooky!

Played-A-Live (The Bongo Song) - Safri Duo

safri duo played a live 2safri duo played a live 1The original single for Safri Duo's Played-A-Live (The Bongo Song) fails in so many ways, it's not even worth counting them. So instead let's just count the bongos on the remixed version and find that there are two of them. A duo of bongos, no less. And the played-a-live bit? Well the bongos are living flesh so that makes them a-live, and who wouldn't want to play with them? So you see, the remix succeeds in as many ways as the original single cover artwork fails. Mathematic!

First Of May - Bee Gees

bee gees first of may remixbee gees first of may 1What is the day? It's the first of May. Which can only mean one thing - it's time for a remix. And what better to remix than a song called the First Of May by none other than the Bee Gees. On the original cover we find the band looking like a sixties throwback in black and red. Now of course the first of May is labor day, so perhaps the red alludes to the vaguely communist aspects of the day. But we prefer the remix where a babe is outdoors on a sunny spring day which is more like the first of May that we would rather see, whatever color of the political spectrum. Comrade!

Gym And Tonic - Spacedust

spacedust gym and tonic remixspacedust gym and tonic 1Did Spacedust know when they released their single Gym And Tonic that their refrain of 'back two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight' would become so memorable? Maybe they did as they chose to decorate the front cover artwork of their single with a picture of a fit babe on a rowing machine. On the remix we find a babe in a different kind of gym and she appears to be just the tonic for the boxers who surround her. Boom!

California Girls - The Beach Boys

beach boys california girls remixbeach boys california girls 1Summer may not be here yet, but that doesn't mean we can't not remix this summertime classic by The Beach Boys. Who doesn't know California Girls? It seems that the original designer of the front cover may not have, as instead of the obvious choice of some girls, he chose instead to show the band members on a boat. This is rectified on the remix where a bevvy of babes smile as us from with the teeth shiny white and their toplessness equally alluring. Did anyone say Baywatch?

Deepest Blue - Deepest Blue

deepest blue remixdeepest blue 1Not the most inventive of song titles that Deepest Blue have come up with. The song is also called Deepest Blue. It seems that their single cover designer was equally uninventive as the cover just has the name of the band, title of the song and some blue blobs. On the remix the deep blue of the title of the song (or is that the artist?) has been offset against a deep blue background, for added deepness and extra blueness. Oh, and a naked babe by a swimming pool for good effect. Azure!

A triple play from us good folk at AllBum.Art of Petula Clark and her song Downtown. On the original single cover artwork is nothing more than Ms Clark with a fetching blue bow in her hair. On the first remix is a babe sitting downtown about to light her cigarette and as she leans over to do this, her top seems to have come undone. On the second remix we find a different babe who is downtown but she must have smoken something strong as all her clothes have come undone, and fallen off. City!

Baby Jump - Mungo Jerry

mungo jerry baby jump remixmungo jerry baby jump 1Mungo Jerry sing a song with the title of Baby Jump. This said, on the original front cover we can't see the baby and can only suppose that she is jumping to the music being played by the band, who are the only people we can see. On the remix artwork is a real babe who is jumping. She does not appear to be in the same building as the band, so if it is the music making her jump we do not know. Maybe she's playing it on her mp3 player. Elevation!
