jimmy cliff you can get it if you really want remixjimmy cliff you can get it if you really want 1That old reggae classic, You Can Get It If You Really Want, is the subject of today's AllBum.Art remix. On the original single cover artwork we tried our hardest to understand what you could get if you really wanted. Presumably something that you might not want, but only if you really want. Maybe that's the cigarette being smoked by Mr Cliff. On the remix we find a mature babe who is offering everything she has, but do you really want that? Really?

Stand By Your Man - Tammy Wynette

tammy wynette stand by your man remixtammy wynette stand by your man 1Although the original single cover artwork for Stand By Your Man shows Tammy Wynette in what is presumably a standing position, it shows no signs of the man of whom she sings as being next to her when she is standing. On the remix we find a babe standing close to her man. Not strictly by him in the closest sense of the word, but not far away either. Why she is naked and he is clothed is unknown, but we bet he's pleased that she chooses to stand by him in that way. Neighbor!

Point Of View - Matumbi

matumbi point of view remixmatumbi point of view 1What is Matumbi's Point Of View? A red jacket, yellow tie and black shirt on a hanger in front of a green curtain, that's what. Yes, some very obscure metaphorical analogies going on here because we assume that they have taken the point of view of someone who has no idea about how to produce covers for music. Then again, the remixed point of view may not be to everyone's taste, in fact it might be to very few people's taste unless those people happen to like looking up at hairy old women. Vertigo!

Lucky Stars - Dean Friedman

dean friedman lucky stars 2dean friedman lucky stars 1Dean Friedman (pronounced 'freed-man' and not 'fried-man' as it would otherwise appear) sings to us about Lucky Stars. But on the cover of his single he looks anything other than lucky, in fact he seems gaunt and dreary, which kind of reflects his music. Anyhow, we thought the cover could do with a spruce up and a remix and on it we see some very lucky stars. So lucky in fact that we could imagine many a man trading places with them for no financial recompense at all. Gratis!

sister sledge we are family remixsister sledge we are family 1Whilst we are in a family mood, here's another sibling related remix. We Are Family was a hit for Sister Sledge in the 70s and again in the 80s and 90s as a remix, so it is only fitting that the cover of their single (and album of the same name) receives the AllBum.Art treatment. On the original cover we see the sisters, sitting around looking less than familial. On the remix we find a mother and her daughter looking equally familial but much happier than the sisters appear. Then again letting the wind blow through your hair on a sunny day is always a winner. Smile!

First Of May - Bee Gees

bee gees first of may remixbee gees first of may 1What is the day? It's the first of May. Which can only mean one thing - it's time for a remix. And what better to remix than a song called the First Of May by none other than the Bee Gees. On the original cover we find the band looking like a sixties throwback in black and red. Now of course the first of May is labor day, so perhaps the red alludes to the vaguely communist aspects of the day. But we prefer the remix where a babe is outdoors on a sunny spring day which is more like the first of May that we would rather see, whatever color of the political spectrum. Comrade!

Baby Jump - Mungo Jerry

mungo jerry baby jump remixmungo jerry baby jump 1Mungo Jerry sing a song with the title of Baby Jump. This said, on the original front cover we can't see the baby and can only suppose that she is jumping to the music being played by the band, who are the only people we can see. On the remix artwork is a real babe who is jumping. She does not appear to be in the same building as the band, so if it is the music making her jump we do not know. Maybe she's playing it on her mp3 player. Elevation!

creedence clearwater revival up around the bend remixcreedence clearwater revival up around the bend 1It would be true to say that the subject of this remix bares an uncanny resemblance to that for Bend And Break by Keane. The main difference is that for Up Around The Bend by Creedence Clearwater Revival the girl shown in the remix (who is in a remarkably similar pose) is on the corner of the street, so she is round the bend in more ways than one. And what of the original cover? The less said about those mustaches and terrible haircuts the better. Scissors!

Dancing With The Captain - Paul Nicholas

paul nicholas dancing with the captain remixpaul nicholas dancing with the captain 1Today we are Dancing With The Captain, and with Paul Nicholas. On the original single front cover artwork there is just Mr Nicholas and no sign any captain, or even any dancing. On the remix is a salty old sea-dog of a captain and with him is a sexy young sea-kitten who could be going to a party for a bit of a dance. Why she would choose to do this without any clothes is, perhaps, best left to the captain's imagination. Ahoy!

In My Chair - Status Quo

status quo in my chair remixstatus quo in my chair 1Another remix for those British hard rockers, Status Quo. On the original single cover artwork for their song In My Chair we find nothing more than the band playing their instruments. Where is the chair and who is in it? The remix answers these questions as we find a babe posing in a chair and given the choice, we would like to make it our chair, and the babe along with it. Wicker!
