moving pictures what about me remixmoving pictures what about me 1This user submitted entry comes from Dale of Woolloomooloo, Australia. Dale doesn't give us his family name but if it is as long as unpronounceable as the name of the town he lives in, perhaps that's for the better. Dale has sent us a remix of the cover of What About Me, by Moving Pictures. Dale tells us that his inspiration is the picture on his remixed cover in which he says that the look on the girl's face is clearly asking why the photographer is more interested in the pot plant than in her. Good question Dale! Bonzer!

You Win Again - Bee Gees

bee gees you win again remixbee gees you win again 1According to the Bee Gees, You Win Again. Or someone wins again. The thing is, the original cover gives no indication of the competition that must be taking place in order that someone can win (again), and someone can lose (maybe for the first time, maybe not - the band are not specific on that point). The remix shows the outcome of the kind of competition that the Bee Gees are no doubt familiar with. But there seem to be three winners, so now we learn that the 'you' in the title of the song is plural. Single!

Naked - Reef

reef naked remixreef naked 1What is the old maxim... "An opportunity lost will never roll a stone over the cook's broth", or something like that. Either way, Reef missed an enormous opportunity here with their single Naked, in two particular ways. Firstly, the title of the song, naked, which is just asking for a picture of a nude babe. And secondly, if that naked babe was on a reef, or sand bank, or some other coastal feature then it would be even more appropriate. And would you believe it, that's what the remix shows. Pebbles!

The Riverboat Song - Ocean Colour Scene

ocean colour scene riverboat song 2ocean colour scene riverboat song 1Another nautical remix, this time from Ocean Colour Scene who are sailing along in The Riverboat Song. The original cover shows us the band and maybe, just possibly, they used a fish-eye lens to give their slightly squinted perspective. But far better might be a babe on a boat, on a river. And better still if she is a hot babe, who needs to be on the boat to keep cool. Tepid!

Sailing On The Seven Seas - OMD

omd sailing on the seven seas remixomd sailing on the seven seas 1Sailing On The Seven Seas, right? That is the title of the song by Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark (or OMD for short)? So how come the original cover artwork seems to show an oil slick? Is that what OMD believe constitutes good design? At AllBum.Art we thought the whole thing would look better with a babe on a sailing boat, though in keeping with the original view that the sea is a dark and mysterious place, the babe in question is sailing at sunset. Ebb!

Crumblin' Down - John Cougar Mellencamp

john cougar mellencamp crumblin down remixjohn cougar mellencamp crumblin down 1Yet another suggestion for a remix by our good buddy Scott of Orlando, FL. We liked his recommendation to remix Crumblin' Down by John Cougar Mellencamp, especially because the original cover of the single is just so damned awful. On it we see Mr Mellencamp trying to stop his jeans falling down, whilst four angels watch. In the remix we see a babe in a similar predicament who also seems to be having problems with her denim, but this could be because she is in a building which is literally crumblin' down. Top!

Hey Man, Nice Shot - Filter

filter hey man nice shot remixfilter hey man nice shot 1Completing our very short two day run of remixed artwork around the topic of tennis, we have the 1995 single by Filter, entitled Hey Man, Nice Shot. But does the original cover provide any indication of how the game is going? No, but the remix does. The only problem is that the title suggests it is a male who is taking the shot, and the remix shows it's a female. We are very sorry for this and will try not to not make the same mistake before. Love!

First Serve - De La Soul

de la soul first serve remixde la soul first serve 1Another remix for Long Island hip-hop gangstas De La Soul, and the first of two in a series of remixes which, for no particular reason, focus on tennis. The original cover of First Serve shows the band sitting around doing what hip-hop gangstas do - playing with money and looking threatening. The remix shows a babe who is clearly ready for her first serve in the game of tennis. You choose which you prefer? Deuce!

It Keeps Rainin' (Tears From My Eyes) - Bitty Mclean

bitty mclean it keeps rainin 2bitty mclean it keeps rainin 1A reggae song about rain. On the one hand, it does rain a lot in the Caribbean, being tropical and all. On the other, keeping raining does not make a good tourist advertisement for the region. So kudos to Bitty Mclean for his song It Keeps Rainin' (Tears From My Eyes) for balancing out these contradictory confabulations. The only problem - the cover of his single shows no rain. The remix, however, does show rain and continues the contradictory confabulations by having both the damp, dismalness of the rain and the delightful delicacy of a babe who is clearly very, very, soggy. Damp!

Sail Away - David Gray

david gray sail away remixdavid gray sail away 1David Gray tells us to Sail Away. But David, why? According to the original cover of his single, it is because David looks so uninspired by his own song that we would want to get away from it as quickly as possible. To rectify this problem, in the remix we have replaced Mr Gray by a naughty naval niece whose appearance will reverse Mr Gray's morose shades with something more colorful. Anyone for a day on the river now? Jump!
