u2 new years day remixu2 new years day 1Happy New Year to you from all of us at AllBum.Art. To celebrate the new year, we bring you a remix of New Years Day by Irish band U2. The original cover is a bit weird with a half naked boy hiding behind a pole. The remix shows the aftermath of a particularly tiring new years party. Everyone is asleep and what's more, they have forgotten to go to bed and have just ended up snoozing on each other's laps. Oh, and looks like they forgot their pajamas too!

Drive by The Cars is one of those songs that every truck driver should have available to play at a second's notice on the cassette player in their cab. And cab drivers should have available to play at a second's notice on the crappy old CD player in their dashboard. The original cover, nice as it is, shows The Cars. Our remixes show two alternative views. Firstly a chick who is obviously waiting for her passenger to show up and is enjoying some sun until they do. The second has a chick who is ready to go - in more ways than two!

Just The Two Of Us - Grover Washington Jr And Bill Withers

grover washington 2 of us remixgrover washington 2 of us 1Just The Two Of Us is an 1980s song by saxophonist Grover Washington Jr with vocals by Bill 'Lovely Daaaaaaaaaaaay' Withers. The cover, is not so lovely. A glass of wine? Well perhaps this is Mr Washington Jr's take on what a night in for two people is like. We do not concur with Mr Washington Jr's view, and instead prefer to imagine a night in for just the two of us more like that in the remix. Don't you?

Would you know it? The cover for Upside Down by Diana Ross is wrong in one extremely enormous way ... Ms Ross is the right way up! Thankfully this has been corrected in our first remix which shows Ms Ross the correct way around for this song. In our second remix, Ms Ross has been replaced by some odd babe who seems to insist on sitting on furniture in the way Ms Ross proposes, upside down. Each to their own, as someone very wise once said.

Eye Of The Tiger - Survivor

survivor eye of tiger remixsurvivor eye of tiger 1When looking for pictures for yesterday's remix of Roar by Katy Perry, we came across lots of pictures of tiger related babes and felt the need to do a remix of the all-time tiger classic, Eye Of The Tiger. The original cover of this Survivor song, has a tiger in it, whose eyes (note the plurality of that) are highlighted in yellow (though of course it should only be one eye to be true to the song's title). The remix has replaced the tiger with another, and very different, member of the Panthera species - a naked chick painted as a tiger - what else!

In The Army Now - Status Quo

status quo in army now remixstatus quo in army now 1Concluding our week of Status Quo cover remixes sent in by Mark Hodson of England is this for their 1980s album (and single of the same name) In The Army Now. The original cover shows, what presumably is meant to be the members of the band, in their ol' rag blues (denim jeans to you and me) raising the Union flag on a pole. As covers go, this scores highly as it includes both the band and some representation of what the song is about. Mr Hodson's remix shows a more intimate view of life in the army - presumably in this case the People's Liberation Army!

Thank you to Mr Hodson for all his work on the remixes of Status Quo covers he has sent us this week.

Don't Drive My Car - Status Quo

status quo dont drive remixstatus quo dont drive 1In case you're wondering why we have had so many cover remixes of the English rock band Status Quo, it's because we received an e-mail from Mark Hodson who supplied us with enough album artwork to have a whole week of covers by the band. The original cover for Don't Drive My Car shows a leggy babe in stockings and a fur coat getting out of a car - not at all bad for a 1980s cover. Mr Hodson has updated this with what the cover would look like today. Gone are the stockings and fur coat!

Ol' Rag Blues - Status Quo

status quo ol rag blues remixstatus quo ol rag blues 1Our Status Quo week, brought to you courtesy of Mark Hodson of England moves into the 1980s with this remix of their song Ol' Rag Blues. Mr Hodson says that although it has always been fashionable to wear ripped denim, he feels that the original cover is now too 80s and that a modern version was needed. In the remixed cover we see a girl in her ripped denim who is, according to Mr Hodson, 'getting into the vibe of the music of the Quo'. If that's what their music does to babes wearing blue jeans, perhaps we should go to England to see them on tour.

Somebody's Watching Me - Rockwell

rockwell watching me remixrockwell watching me 1As it's Halloween, time for something appropriate to the date (or inappropriate as the case may be). The cover for the 1984 single Somebody's Watching Me from Rockwell has as couple of eyes peering out of the corner but no indication of what it is that they are watching. Spooky as it may seem, it looks like what Rockwell was looking at was some naked chick in a Halloween outfit!

Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car - Billy Ocean

billy ocean dreams car remixbilly ocean dreams car 1Does this song win the award for the longest title? Probably not, but Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car is a pretty long title brought to us by Billy Ocean in 1988. The original cover shows Mr Charles standing in a very rock and roll pose but there's no sign of the car, or any dreams. In the remix, we see what is really going on. A dreamy naked chick (well naked except for some high heels) is responding to Mr Charles's instructions and is about to get into his car - at least she is if he opens the door for her!
