john lee hooker chill out 2john lee hooker chill out 1We give full marks to John Lee Hooker for the original album front cover artwork of Chill Out as we find on it a scene in which Mr Hooker is relaxing on a comfortable chair by what appears to be a tropical beach. On the remix we find a babe who seems equally relaxed but who is taking a dip in a frozen lake. She is definitely out and will no doubt get a chill if she isn't too careful. Maybe next time a wet-suit might be useful. Redness!

cord winter remixcord winter 1When Cord sing about Winter on their single (and album of the same name) we expect more on the cover than a girl holding a bear standing around in front of a newsagent, but that is what is found on the original cover artwork. On the remix we find three babes who are also standing around and one of them is bare and this time it's definitely winter as there's lots of snow on the ground. Why they are in this predicament is anyone's guess. Melting!

Winter Song - Chris Rea

chris rea winter song 2chris rea winter song 1On the original single cover artwork for Winter Song, we find Chris Rea apparently getting soaked by water pouring over him from a tuba floating above his head. What exactly this has gotten to do with winter remains as mysterious as the Bowler Hat being held by Mr Rea. On the remix we find a babe who is singing a song whilst in a very snowy and wintery setting. She has a nice warm scarf but seems to have forgotten most of the rest of her winter clothes. Icicles!

Red Hot - Vanessa-Mae

vanessa mae red hot remixvanessa mae red hot 1You might wonder why we are remixing Red Hot by Vanessa-Mae in December? Let's begin by examining the original single cover artwork where we find Ms Mae posing provocatively in red whilst some flames lick at her body. Not that Decembery you might think. On the remix we find a bane who is also posing provocatively in red. The thing is that she is so hot, that in order to cool down she is throwing snow at her ass. And now you can see why this remix works in the context of the winter months. Defrost!

Storm Front - Billy Joel

billy joel storm front remixbilly joel storm front 1When we first saw the original album cover artwork for Storm Front by Billy Joel, we had to investigate whether it had any connection with storms. It turns out that the red flag with a black square in it is a nautical flag meaning that storms are on the way. So thumbs up for that. On the remix, though, we find a babe standing outside whilst a snow storm is going on. She is showing us her chilly front, and so we guess this would be an alternative representation of the album's title. Peaky!

Snowflakes - Toni Braxton

toni braxton snowflakes 2toni braxton snowflakes 1Toni Braxton brings us an album that she titles Snowflakes. Now it might just be us, but we would have at least expected that on the original album cover artwork, there might actually have been some snowflakes visible that would reflect its name. Thankfully this has been resolved on the remix, as we find a babe standing outside in the snow, with plenty of snowflakes in the picture as the fall on her. She seems to be wearing a fur-lined outfit but one that is otherwise unsuited to cold weather being full of holes. Snow-net!

Hazy Shade Of Winter - The Bangles

bangles hazy shade of winter 2bangles hazy shade of winter 1Today's question is what is a Hazy Shade Of Winter? According to The Bangles, it might be black, as that is the color that all of the band members are wearing on the original single cover artwork. On the remix we find a babe standing outside in the snow, so it's almost certainly winter. She is wearing a rather hazy white bodysuit and so we can but presume that white, being the color of snow and of the catsuit, is the hazy shade that the group were referring to. Blanco!

alexander o neal my t to you remixalexander o neal my t to you 1Alexander O'Neal sends us My Gift To You, which is very kind of him. On the original album cover artwork we find Mr O'Neal standing outdoors on a snowy street with olde worlde lights shining on the dark, arctic scene. All very good, but where's the gift. It seems that the gift has already been given as on the remix we find a babe opening a present and she seems quite pleased with what is in the box. Perhaps it is some new clothes as all of her old ones appear to have dissolved. Acid!

belmonts wintertime 1belmonts wintertime 2belmonts wintertime remix
OK, so it's not yet Wintertime, neither in the northern nor southern hemispheres, but here in the northern part, it's beginning to get quite cold and so this remix of The Belmonts seems appropriate enough. On the original single cover artwork we find the band members looking quite dapper in their bow ties, but not very wintery. On the first of our triple-play remix, we find a babe who is wearing highly inappropriate attire for the wintertime scene she finds herself in. On the second remix we find a babe who at least tried to dress warm but who seems to have had her furry coat come unbuttoned. Attempting!

Broken Down Angel - Nazareth

nazareth broken down angel remixnazareth broken down angel 1Back to the wintery remixes as we consider Broken Down Angel by Nazareth. Not only does the name of the band have biblical connotations, but the title does too, because it mentions angels which is one of our favorite topics. On the original single cover artwork we find nothing more than the band members. On the remix we find a babe whose car appears to have broken down. We know this as she is attempting a push start. If we may offer her some advice, it may have been more sensible to do this wearing clothes and more sensible shoes than high heels (especially in the snow). Just sayin' is all.
