A summery triple-play for The Sundays and their single Summertime. On the original cover is a ladybug. Why this is representative of summer is not that clear. On the first remix, we have a babe standing in the sea in her bikini, which unfortunately seems to have gotten rather wet. It's a summery vision though. On the second remix a different babe has foregone her bikini altogether, and is standing in the altogether in a colorful floral garden. Wall!

Not just one or two people, but Everybody Loves The Sunshine, according to Roy Ayers Ubiquity. To demonstrate this, on the original single front cover artwork, we find Mr Ayers in a sunny yellow t-shirt. On the remix we find a babe who is actually outside enjoying the sunshine, dipping her body in the sea by a boat. Nice looking bikini she has on. Chainmail!

While we're starting to enjoy the summer sunshine, let's take a look and see how DJ Jazzy Jeff And The Fresh Prince paint us a picture of the Summertime. If the original single front cover artwork is to be believed, it's all about skateboarding, skipping, basketball and leaping over water hydrants. On the remix we find a babe who is enjoying the summer in a way that she enjoys, just chilling by the pool. Ice cream!

A sunny, summery remix for Mungo Jerry. On the original single front cover artwork for In The Summertime, we find the band members lolling about by a rather uninspiring waterfall, maybe that was regarded as summery in the 1970s? On the remix we find a babe doing some lolling of her own but somewhere definitely sunny, on a sandy beach with a beautiful azure ocean and a blue sky reaching out in front of her. Simmer!

What happens Offshore? According to the original single front cover artwork from Chicane, some aircraft chem-trails, or are they pieces of string holding up some cloth triangles? Not at all clear. On the remix, what happens offshore is that some shapely babe lounges around in a bikini off the side of a sailing boat, which oddly, is exactly what we thought might happen. Realism!

It may seem odd to be remixing a summer sizzler in January, but it's nice to be cheered by some warm sunshine in these dark, cold times of the year (and it is, of course, summer in the southern hemisphere). The original front cover single artwork for Free As The Morning Sun by Mr Hermano doesn't have much of a summery feel about it, though with all those stars on it, it is to be hoped there would be a planet with a sunny beach on it somewhere. On the remix we find a babe enjoying the morning sun freely. Now that's more like it. Dawn!

If you never saw it, then before even thinking about reading any further, go and watch the piece from Family Guy concerning 'mass awareness of a certain avian variety', go watch it now. Then come back and think about what a Surfin' Bird is. To us it's simple. It's a cute surfin' bird. Simple really. Everybody knows that bird is the word. Tweet!

What shall we do This Summer? Why don't we sit on some deck chairs fully dressed and get a tan only on our faces? That is what Squeeze are suggesting we do, if the original front cover artwork of their single is to be believed. On the remix we find a different view of this summer, which largely consists of five busty babes standing on a beach in their skimpy bikinis. Maybe that is that summer, not this? There!

We get the idea of the original single cover artwork for Barefootin' by Robert Parker, which is that some three footed person has painted their feet a different color then walked across the cover. A nice try for sure, and it must have been difficult to have found someone with three feet. On the remix, an alternative view of the song's title, as we find a cute young babe waking barefoot across a sandy beach. And it's not just her feet that are bare. Dunes!

You know that it's going to be a lovely day when Ray Charles sings to us about That Lucky Old Sun. On the original single front cover artwork we find Mr Charles doing the singing, but why is the sun so lucky? The remix helps answer this question as we find a smiling babe in a grass skirt and a captain's beret, but whose bikini top seems to have gone amiss, and who the sun has clearly taken a shine to. Wink!
